fun-filled day at the “Good Day McAllen” luncheon to be held on June
12th, at the “new” McAllen Convention Center, 700 Convention Center
Blvd. As always Rick Guerra and John Kreidler, emcees, will keep things
moving and on your toes. Great door prizes will be given away throughout
the luncheon as well as the ever-popular Davis Rankin with his “Not
Necessarily the News”. PLUS if your name is drawn, you could be the
lucky winner of the $1,150.00 CASH GRAND PRIZE just for attending! (Must

The expo will offer area small businesses and manufacturers an
opportunity to obtain contracting awards by government buying agencies,
federal prime corporations and other corporate purchasers. The McAllen
Hispanic Chamber of Commerce President and Chair of the STBBC Expo
Planning Committee Cynthia Sakulenzki is expecting approximately 150
exhibitors, such as Lockheed Martin, Boeing, the University of Texas
System Office of Facilities, Planning and Construction, Texas Department
of Transportation, Texas Lottery Commission, Texas Transportation
Institute, Texas Workforce Commission, Texas Health and Human Services
Commission, and the University of Texas Health Science Center San
Antonio. Conference cost for small businesses is $50 per person.
Sponsorship opportunities are available. Deadline to register is June 1,
2007.

Details
The Junior League of McAllen is "Hunting for the Holidays"! For twenty
years, the Junior League of McAllen, Texas has traditionally opened the
holiday season with its Dias Festivos Marketplace in order to raise
funds for the children of the community.
The Junior League of McAllen is celebrating its 21st Dias Festivos
Marketplace in twenty first century style as the shopping extravaganza
relocates to the brand-new, state-of-the art McAllen Convention Center
located at 700 Convention Center Blvd. in McAllen, TX 78501 (Ware Road
and Expressway 83).
The marketplace, featuring 120 merchants, will be open to the public
from November 30th through December 2nd.
The shopping hours are:
Friday, November 30th 12:00 to 6:00 p.m.
Saturday, December 1st 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Sunday, December 2nd 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
General admission is $5 and children under 7 years old are admitted
free.
Tickets are available at the door and at Barn White on 4317 N 10th St in
McAllen, TX.
Dias Festivos Marketplace is partnering this year with the Fiesta
Marathon - visit www.fiestamarathon.com for information!
In conjunction with the event, there will be a "Loaded Ladies" Ultimate
Shopping event on Friday night, a "Dressed to Kill" style show on Friday
morning and a "Camo & Carats" gala/auction on Friday evening. Consult

Merchants for this juried show are being chosen now! If you are
interested, please visit www.juniorleaguemcallen.org or call
956-682-0071 for an application. All merchants go through a review
process and selections are made to achieve the best variety of
merchandise.
The Junior League of McAllen, Inc. is an organization of women committed
to promoting volunteerism and to improving the community through the
action and leadership of trained volunteers. Our purpose is exclusively
educational and charitable.
We strive to proactively meet critical needs of the McAllen community
either by initiating or collaborating with community groups for positive
solutions. Our volunteerism and financial grants are primarily
concentrated on high-impact projects which fulfill our Vision Statement.
We welcome into our organization women of all races, religions and
national origins who exemplify a commitment to volunteerism.
